Macy's Holiday Hiring Day Oct. 22: Where Mesa Job Seekers Can Walk In

MESA, AZ — Macy's holds its next nationwide holiday hiring day on Thursday, October 22, and the Phoenix market, Mesa included, is one of 10 areas the retailer named as a top hiring market for its stores this season. There's a catch for Mesa job seekers: the closest stores are now a short drive away in Chandler and Gilbert.

Walk in on the 22nd, apply on the spot, and come with your real holiday schedule. Miss it, and Macy's has one more hiring day on November 19.

Why Mesa Job Seekers Should Pay Attention

Macy's, Inc. laid out its season in a September 24 holiday hiring announcement. It is filling seasonal part-time jobs at Macy's, Bloomingdale's and Bluemercury stores, with in-person hiring days on September 24, October 22 and November 19. Phoenix made the company's short list of top store hiring markets, next to Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston and New York.

Macy's has not published a headcount for the Valley, a national total or one start time for every store. We won't guess at any of them.

🗺️ No Macy's in Mesa Anymore, So Here's Where to Go

Mesa's own Macy's at Superstition Springs Center was on the chain's 2025 closure list, and Macy's store locator no longer shows a Mesa location. The two nearest stores are an easy trip down the 101 or the 202:

Chandler Fashion Center: 3107 W. Chandler Blvd., Chandler, AZ 85226, (480) 821-8611. The better pick from west Mesa, Dobson Ranch and the Fiesta District.
SanTan Village: 2190 E. Williams Field Rd., Gilbert, AZ 85295, (480) 792-6333. Closer for east Mesa, Eastmark and the Superstition Springs side of town.

Pick the store you can reach fastest. Holiday retail means closing shifts and early Black Friday openings.

Two Hiring Events, Same Thursday

October 22 is also the day of the Mesa Job Fair at the Eagles Community Center on East Broadway Road, which runs 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. with employers from six fields. Different event, different employers, different goal: that fair leans toward year-round jobs, while Macy's is hiring for the season. If you want both, do the fair in the morning and call your Macy's store about afternoon hours.

💵 What It Pays and What Comes With It

Macy's says every job posting lists its pay range, so you see the number before you apply. The company lists colleague discounts, 401(k) savings, access to earned wages before payday and an employee assistance program among its benefits, with medical, dental and vision coverage based on eligibility.

📋 How to Show Up Ready on Oct. 22

Call your store first. Hours vary by location, and the numbers are above.
Apply online before you go. It gives the manager something to pull up. Macy's applicants can also submit a recorded interview.
Bring photo ID. If you're hired, you'll complete work-authorization paperwork.
Know your availability. Nights, weekends and the days around Thanksgiving are what holiday retail runs on.
