A County Job Fair That Comes to the Neighborhood

This is not a convention center production. It is a recurring county and city fair that keeps coming back to the same address on Broadway, a few blocks east of downtown and just down the road from the city's Workforce Center @ Mesa. Maricopa County ran a Mesa Job Fair at this same building in May, and the October date is listed on the ARIZONA@WORK event page, which links the official flyer.

The six industries on that flyer match what moves the Mesa labor market: healthcare around Banner Desert at Southern and Dobson, manufacturing and aerospace near Falcon Field and Gateway, and transportation along the 202 and the 60.

⚠️ Read This Before You Go

Three things the organizers have not published.

  • No employer names. The flyer lists industries, not companies. If one employer is the whole reason you would go, email Erika Read at Erika.Read@maricopa.gov first.
  • No admission price. The October flyer does not mention cost. The county listed its May job fair at this address as free, but confirm rather than assume.
  • No registration link. Nothing on the event page asks job seekers to sign up in advance, so plan on walking in during the three-hour window.

Accommodations are available: the flyer says auxiliary aids and services can be requested by people with disabilities. Ask ahead so they can be ready.

Different Day, Different Event

October is busy in the East Valley, and two other events land the same fortnight. Mesa Community College's Building Blocks fair on Wednesday, October 21, is listed for MCC students with an RSVP. JobFest LIVE in Tempe runs Thursday, October 29, for employers with full-time openings. Both are covered in our Mesa fall job fair guide. If you are not an MCC student, October 22 is your open-door option before JobFest.

📋 How to Show Up Ready

  • Fifteen printed resumes. Several industries means several versions are worth bringing.
  • A photo ID and copies of any certifications: CDL, forklift, BLS, CNA, fingerprint clearance card.
  • A thirty-second answer to "what are you looking for."
  • Arrive near 10:00 a.m. A three-hour window fills up fastest at the front.
  • Need resume help first? The city's two free career centers can look at it before the 22nd.

🔎 Where to Aim Before October 22

The candidates who leave a job fair with an interview usually walked in knowing what was posted. Use the next two weeks to line up openings in the six fields on the flyer, then bring those job titles to the tables.
