Elevate East Valley Workforce Hiring Event — Tuesday, September 29

This is the anchor event of the Mesa fall season and the one to clear your morning for. The City of Mesa is running it with Maricopa County, and the pitch is 75 or more East Valley employers hiring now, under one roof, three blocks off Main Street in downtown Mesa. Building Blocks to Your Career: Job and Resource Fair — Wednesday, October 21

10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. | Navajo Room, Mesa Community College, 1833 W. Southern Ave., Mesa, AZ 85202

Up to 30 employers hiring, plus free professional headshots, resume reviews and interview prep in the same room. That combination is unusually practical – you can walk out with a corrected resume and a photo the same morning. The catch is real: Mesa Community College lists this one as open to MCC students, with an RSVP required. If you are enrolled at Southern and Dobson, this is the easiest three hours you will spend this semester. If you are not, see the section below. JobFest LIVE — Thursday, October 29

1:00 – 4:00 p.m. | Rio Salado College Conference Center, 2323 W. 14th St., Tempe, AZ 85281

Maricopa Corporate College runs JobFest twice a year, and the fall edition lands the Thursday before Halloween. Employers are told they must have at least one full-time opening to get a booth, which is a better filter than most fairs apply, and the organizers are planning for 200 or more job seekers. It is a straight shot down the 202 from Mesa, about twenty-five minutes from downtown outside of rush hour. One honest caveat: as of this writing the employer registration is live but the job seeker registration page has not opened yet. No. The City of Mesa states job seekers do not need to register. It is free and you can walk in any time between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Employers are the ones who register.

Where do I park for the Mesa Convention Center?

The Convention Center sits at Center and University in downtown Mesa with surface parking around the complex. If you are coming in on light rail, the Center/Main station puts you a few minutes' walk north of Building C.

Can the public attend the Mesa Community College fair on October 21?

MCC lists it as open to MCC students with an RSVP required. If you are not enrolled, contact Career Services before you go rather than assuming you can walk in.

Is JobFest worth driving to Tempe for?

If you want full-time work, yes. Employers need at least one full-time opening to take a booth. Confirm the job seeker registration has opened first, because as of publication it had not.
