New ALDI Opens in Southeast Mesa Oct. 22, With Store Jobs Posted
MESA, AZ — ALDI opens its newest Mesa grocery store this Thursday, October 22, at 6853 E. Elliot Road, on the southeast corner of Power and Elliot roads. The ribbon is cut at 8 a.m., and after that the store settles into a 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. schedule, seven days a week. For southeast Mesa job seekers, that means a new employer in a growing corner of the city, and a hiring push that is still running on ALDI's own careers site.

A Grocery Store Southeast Mesa Has Been Waiting On
This corner has been on the map for a while. ALDI bought the land at Power and Elliot and cleared it for building, and the company's regional vice president, Shawn Eddy, said back in January that the store was expected to open before the end of 2026, according to reporting in The Arizona Republic. It made that target with room to spare.
It is ALDI's second Mesa opening this year. The company opened a store at 1045 S. Gilbert Road in May, and another Mesa site at Greenfield Road and Main Street, in a former 99 Cents Only building, is planned with no opening date announced.
The Elliot Road store follows the chain's smaller layout. Most of the shelf is ALDI's own brands, shoppers bag their own groceries, and carts take a quarter that comes back when the cart does. Eddy told WhatNow Phoenix that shoppers will notice "a smaller, easy-to-shop store layout."
💼 What ALDI Is Hiring For in Mesa
ALDI has not announced how many people the new store will employ, and we are not going to guess. What we can see is on ALDI's own careers site: a full-time assistant store manager job in Mesa marked "New Store," starting at $25.50 an hour and rising to $26.50 in year two, at about 38 hours a week.
A separate Mesa listing for a full-time lead store associate, a keyholder role that opens and closes the store and runs the floor without a manager present, starts at $20 an hour with scheduled raises to $22 by year five. That posting does not name which Mesa store it serves.
The work is physical: the lead associate posting lists stocking shelves, running the register, filling curbside pickup orders, working in the freezer and cooler, and lifting up to 45 pounds.
Full-time ALDI employees get medical, dental and vision coverage, paid vacation and holidays, and up to six weeks of paid parental leave. Every employee, part-time included, gets a 401(k) with a company match.
